The 3rd Global Literary Review Competition - 2025
Organized by the Kuru Aravinthan Fan Club

Celebrate the legacy of the renowned Tamil writer Kuru Aravinthan by participating in a Literary Review Competition dedicated to his novels and short stories. This competition aims to honor his contributions to Tamil literature and inspire the Tamil community to embrace the joys of reading and writing.

Prizes

A total of 15 prizes worth 1,50,000 Sri Lankan Rupees will be awarded:

  • First Prize: 30,000 LKR
  • Second Prize: 25,000 LKR
  • Third Prize: 20,000 LKR
  • Fourth Prize: 15,000 LKR
  • Fifth Prize: 10,000 LKR
  • 10 Honorable Mentions: 5,000 LKR each

How to Participate

Submit your review of at least 2 novels or 4 short stories by writer Kuru Aravinthan in Tamil or English. The review must:

  • Be a maximum of 5 pages or 1600 words
  • Be submitted in Unicode and Word format
  • Focus on literary analysis and critical appreciation

Note:

  • If you are a student, please mention it in your submission.
  • There is no age limit.
  • Each participant can submit only one review.

The Kuru Aravinthan Fan Club reserves the right to edit and publish the winning entries as a book.

  மூன்றாவது பெண்..! குரு அரவிந்தன் - Kuru Aravinthan அந்தச் சிறுமி சட்டென்று எனது கவனத்தைத் தன் பக்கம் திருப்பினாள், காரணம் அவளது அந்தக் குரலில் பாசம் இழையோடியிருந்தது. மூத்த மகளாக இருக்க வேண்டும் மற்றப் பிள்ளைகளைவிடச் சற்றுப் பெரியவளாகத் தெரிந்தாள். பத்து வயதிருக்கலாம். ‘டாட் எனக்கு ஒரு ஸ்சுமூதி’ என்று இங்கிருந்தே குரல் கொடுத்தாள். அந்தச் சிறுமியின் குரலில் இருந்த கவர்ச்சி போலவே அவளிலும் அப்படி ஒரு கவர்ச்சி இருந்தது. நன்றாக உடை அணிந்து அழகாக, சிரித்த முகத்தோடு, அமைதியாக இருந்தாள். அந்தக் குடும்பத்தினர் எனக்கு அருகே இருந்த மேசையில் தான் சுற்றிவர அமர்ந்திருந்தார்கள். தாய் தகப்பன் மூன்று பிள்ளைகள். தகப்பன் பிள்ளைகளிடம் ‘என்ன சாப்பிடப் போறீங்க..?’ என்று அவர்களது விருப்பத்தைக் கேட்டார். நியோன் விளக்கு வெளிச்சத்தோடு இருந்த பதாகையில் உணவு வகைகளின் பெயர்களும், அதற்கான படங்களும், விலைப்பட்டியலும் மின்னிக் கொண்டிருந்தன. அவர்கள் அதை உன்னிப்பாகப் பார்த்து ஆளுக்கொரு உணவைக் குறிப்பிட, தகப்பன் பொறுமையாக கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். யாருக்கு என்ன தேவை என்பது எல்லாவற்றையும் உள்வாங்கிக் கொண்டபின், மனைவ...
